This historic case began in New York State courts and reached into federal court as well as legal tribunals in Germany. It resulted in a recovery of $5 million for the estate of Ferdinand Nacher, a Jewish businessman from Germany who migrated to the United States. Nacher’s family owned breweries, hotels and other property which was illegally seized by the Nazi regime in 1934.
